Diddy Did Nothing Wrong
Radio host DJ Envy recently shared an unpopular perspective on the news surrounding Diddy, expressing his opinions during an episode of the podcast The Casey Crew. His remarks came in light of the controversial rapper’s arrest and the subsequent media coverage.
DJ Envy’s Take on Diddy’s Situation
During the episode, DJ Envy‘s wife and co-host, Gia Casey, mentioned Diddy, stating she would withhold judgment until more information about the case emerged. DJ Envy then delved into some of the headlines surrounding Diddy’s case, including the infamous reports of thousands of bottles of lubricant and baby oil.
Referring to Diddy as a “weird n***a,” he explained, “There’s nothing wrong with being eccentric. So the fact that he has thousands of bottles of baby oil and lubricant just means he enjoys sex, and that’s not illegal at all.” His defense emphasizes the distinction between personal preferences and criminal behavior.
Criticism of Preemptive Judgments
DJ Envy acknowledged that while he understands people will “make jokes,” he dislikes how others are “judging” Diddy before all the evidence is presented. He voiced concern over Diddy’s denial of bail, stating, “I don’t like that they’re not allowing him bail. He would post $50 million… his house, his mother’s house, he would give up his passport.”
Impact on Diddy’s Family
What bothers DJ Envy most about the situation is the impact on Diddy’s family. He highlighted that Diddy has three children without their mother, and “two 17-year-old twins who currently have no father and may not have one for the next two years until the trial is over.” From Envy‘s perspective, Diddy deserves the chance to be out on bail and “fight from the outside.”
The Presumption of Innocence
Emphasizing the principle of innocent until proven guilty, DJ Envy added, “In this society, you feel like you’re guilty and have to prove your innocence, but it should be the other way around.” He expressed sadness that a person with such a significant legacy is being affected by these allegations, stating that if Diddy did what he’s accused of, he “absolutely, definitely” deserves to be in prison “for a long time.”
