A Crucial Fight in Las Vegas
Darius “DFG” Fulghum is set to enter a significant bout on November 2 in Las Vegas, where he’ll face southpaw Chris Pearson in a 10-round fight. This super middleweight clash will take place at Virgin Hotels. With an impressive record of 12-0, including 10 knockout wins, Fulghum, hailing from Houston, recently defeated Vaughn Alexander in Indio, California, this past June. Still in his developmental phase, the young boxer is in no rush to take on major opponents, choosing not to call out big names like Saul “Canelo” Alvarez or Edgar Berlanga just yet.
“I’m not the one who picks my opponents. I trust my manager and promoter to guide my career. I’ll fight whoever they put in the ring with me,” Fulghum shared. He also emphasized his desire to establish his own name before challenging the top fighters in the sport.
A Bright Future Ahead
Fulghum is currently managed by 3 Point Management and promoted by Golden Boy. Under the coaching of Darnell Pierce, he has now entered the WBA rankings. “I jumped up on my couch, shouting, when I found out I was ranked No. 7 by the WBA. This is a dream come true for me,” he said. Fulghum is confident in his abilities and has noticed significant improvements in his skills.
“I want to become a legend in boxing,” he added. Previously, Fulghum was ranked No. 1 in the U.S. heavyweight division during his amateur career and also earned a nursing degree from Prairie View A&M University. His next steps in the professional arena are certain to capture the attention of boxing fans.
This upcoming fight is not only a challenge but also an opportunity for Fulghum to prove his talent and continue his journey toward legendary status in the boxing world.
