The singer donated all the proceeds from her first performance in the Philippines to charity.
Olivia Rodrigo performed at the Philippine Arena in Manila on October 5, marking the largest audience of her career to date with 55,000 attendees. She expressed her joy on Instagram:
“I’ve dreamed of this show for a long time,” Rodrigo wrote, “It’s my first time in the Philippines, and it’s also my biggest venue ever. Thank you to everyone in Manila for welcoming me so warmly and making me feel loved.”
Olivia Rodrigo Donates Entire Proceeds to Support Women’s Health
Recognizing the health situation for women in the Philippines, the young singer donated all proceeds from her recent show to Jhpiego, a nonprofit organization affiliated with Johns Hopkins University. Jhpiego is renowned for its reproductive health services, prevention of HIV/AIDS and infectious diseases, as well as education for women and families worldwide, currently operating in over 35 countries.
Olivia visited Manila (the capital of the Philippines) and was very impressed with Jhpiego’s initiatives in protecting women’s and children’s health, so the young singer took action to support the organization.
Based on Olivia Rodrigo’s supportive efforts, Jhpiego shared on its Instagram page: “Olivia Rodrigo’s generosity and commitment to women’s health will create a lasting impact. Together, we are helping many women and girls access the care and support they need!”
Not only did she donate her profits, but throughout her eight-month tour, the American singer actively supported women’s initiatives through the 4 Good Fund. The nonprofit organization continuously receives funding from a portion of the young singer’s ticket sales to protect the rights to education and reproductive rights for women and girls.
Olivia is not only a talented and beautiful artist but also a young pioneer in meaningful social initiatives, helping to bring hope and strength to women and girls around the world.
